St Michael and All Angels' Church

Sunday Morning Worship at Galleywood lasts from 9.30 am till 12 noon. You don't have to come to all of it! Just come when you can, leave when you like. We call this Rolling Worship.

The service is organised in half-hour segments, with refreshments in between - you might want to come at 9.30 am (especially if you like the choir and liturgy), 10.30 am (especially if you like the idea of the whole church family being together) or 11.30 am (especially if you like the idea of a worship band) - but don't feel awkward about arriving when a segment is already underway, just come when you can, leave when you like. There will be one theme every week, and we'll be unpacking the theme in a variety of ways - sometimes we'll all be together for a classic sermon, sometimes there'll be a choice of a lecture, a discussion group or a practical activity. Musically speaking, there'll be a move from something choir-based earlier in the day to a band at the end of the morning; and from time to time we'll have the band and the choir all playing and singing at once!

We really hope you'll enjoy what you find as you come when you can, leave when you like. In time, you may wish to build a balanced diet of worship, learning and fellowship - we guarantee that if you come for 90 minutes at 9.30 am or 10.30 am you'll get all three of these things. Of course, you could build the balanced diet by attending our 8am Communion Service or our 5.30 pm evening service alongside one of our morning segments instead - but our service at St Michael's School (formerly known as Family Hour) will not be continuing.

Rolling Worship demands special facilities, for example with four different youth and children's groups meeting. Right now, the church is not equipped for this. By Summer 2012 we aim to have completed a major renovation of the church, building in the extra rooms and amenities required. Watch this space for updates as the project develops, and to hear about enjoyable fundraising events!

Communion Services

Our 8.00 am Communion service is held on the second, third and fifth Sunday of the month. Communion is incorporated into Rolling Worship on the fourth Sunday of each month and into the evening service (6.30 pm in the summer/5.30 pm in the winter) on the first Sunday of the month.

Evening Service

Our evening service is a quiet, reflective time of worship, beginning @ 5.30 pm in the winter and 6.30 pm in the summer.
